Introducing an award for experts in the field
from the experts in the field….

Pharmaceutical Technology magazine and the organizers of the INTERPHEX Conference & Exhibition are pleased to bring you the 2nd Annual GenerationNext Awards, an award program created to recognize and honor three of the pharmaceutical industry’s most talented young technical professionals.

If you think  one of your colleagues is an emerging leader, accomplished in  pharmaceutical science or technology and shows great promise,  please visit click here to submit your entry.  Or, perhaps you should be considered? Follows these simple guidelines to submit your nomination.

Submission Guidelines

Eligibility
Nominees must work on technical, scientific, or regulatory issues in pharmaceutical manufacturing, considered in its broadest sense, to include all phases from initial process and formulation development through manufacturing in clinical trials to full production. Nominees may work in industry, academia, government, or non-profit organizations, anywhere in the world. They may deal with topics that include, but are not limited to, process development and engineering, unit-process development, quality control and assurance, analytical method development, drug delivery technology, information technology, facilities engineering, packaging, ingredient development, pharmaceutical manufacturing, analytical methods, education, and research.

There is an age limit: nominees must not have reached their 39th birthday on
December 31, 2006.

Nomination
Nominations may be submitted online here and use the forms printed in the September and November 2006 issues of Pharmaceutical Technology. GenerationNext award program announcements and nomination forms will also be mailed to department heads and managers in industry and academia.

Hard copy nomination forms may also be sent by mail to:
GenerationNext/Pharmaceutical Technology
485 Route One South, Building F Floor 1
Iselin, NJ 08830

Nominations may also be submitted via e-mail to
generationnext@advanstar.com.

Nominations should be submitted in English, and must be received by January 31, 2007. After initial review, nominators may be asked to supply additional information before January 31, 2007.

Nominations may be submitted individually or by colleagues, and will consist of at least three elements:

  1. A simple nomination form, clearly naming the nominee and nominator, with contact information
  2. The nominee’s resume or curriculum vitae; and
  3. A description of the nominee’s achievements that demonstrate the nominees ability to lead and innovate. The description of achievements may include exhibits, but the whole package should not be longer than 30 single-sided printed pages or 30,000 words.

Criteria
Awards will be given to nominees whose nomination packets show exceptional ability to lead, bring constructive change, and maintain excellence in pharmaceutical manufacturing, as we broadly define it.

Judging
The editorial team of Pharmaceutical Technology and directors of INTERPHEX will screen the initial nominations. In February 2007, the nominations that meet the award criteria will be submitted to a panel of senior industry experts for final review and selection. No more than three nominations will be selected to receive the first GenerationNext awards.

Award Presentation
Award recipients will be notified in confidence of their selection in mid-February 2007. The awards will be presented during a keynote session at INTERPHEX 2007 April 24-26 in New York City). GenerationNext may require that those selected to receive the awards be present; if they are not, the award may be presented to an alternate. GenerationNext will provide award recipients with transportation, lodging, and meals to attend the INTERPHEX conference and Exhibition.
